RUGODENTIDAE
Bastawade et al., 2005

This family includes one genus and one species [Updated 30.06.26]. The taxonomy of Rugodentidae according to Prendini, 2026 is available here.

The scorpions in this family were originally placed in Scorpionidae, but the single genus and species were transferred to its own family by Prendini and Loria in 2020. The member of this family is only found in the state of Kerala, India.

Rugodentus is found in wet, lowland rainforests. This is a fossorial scorpion, that seems to hide in burrows when it is not active on the surface.
